CNN/SSRS has just published its latest poll. Biden 57%, Trump 41%. Terrific news.

Details in full, located here:

The study was conducted for CNN via telephone by SSRS, an independent research company. Interviews wereconducted from October 1-4, 2020 among a sample of 1,205 respondents. The landline total respondents were 424 and there were 781 cell phone respondents. The margin of sampling error for total respondents is +/- 3.3 atthe 95% confidence level. The design effect is 1.39. For results among the 1,095 registered voters, the margin ofsampling error is +/-3.5 and for results among the 1,001 likely voters, it is +/-3.6. More information about SSRS canbe obtained by visiting www.ssrs.com. Unless otherwise noted, results beginning with the March 31-April 2, 2006survey and ending with the April 22-25, 2017 survey are from surveys conducted by ORC International. Resultsbefore March 31, 2006 are from surveys conducted by Gallup.

Oct 1-4, this is entirely after the first debate, and mostly after the Trump coronavirus diagnosis and attendant drama. The people have spoken, and it’s clearer than ever. Approximately 89% say Mind’s Made Up. Approximately 8-9% say Might Change My Mind. Approximately 2% say No Opinion/Other.

Also, Favorability. Some here have been concerned that Trump might ride some wave of sympathy, and his personal favorability rating will start to rise. Not happening in this poll at least. Trump is 39% favorable, 59% unfavorable, Net -20. Worst in a year, per their chart. Biden is 52% favorable, 42% unfavorable, Net +10. Really impressive.

Also interesting, SCOTUS nomination fight has leaped to #1 in voters’ most pressing issues that are motivating them to want to cast a vote. That’s worth noting. Voters care more intensely (“extremely important”) about that than about Covid (a close second), healthcare (a close third), race relations (a close fourth) and finally the economy! (a close fifth)

With this poll, Joe Biden leaps to a composite +8.8 in ALL national polling per FiveThirtyEight, as of 9am Tuesday (today). Never mind Clinton 2016, this is higher than either of Obama’s two runs for the presidency.

This is on track to be a landslide victory.
